Located in a second-floor suite overlooking the development, the new headquarters is uniquely designed to serve as a dynamic and flexible workspace with a focus on accessibility and creative collaboration. Going forward, LIFT plans to embrace what it refers to as a “studio model,” employing an electively remote workforce day-to-day that will convene in the space for client meetings, design workshops, co-creation exercises and other company-wide “on-sites.” The agency’s new workplace model was inspired in-part by Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who discussed the adoption of a similar “hybrid” approach to remote and on-premises as being the “future of work.”
“Like so many other small businesses, the pandemic forced us to be introspective and thoughtful about how we work and, perhaps even more important, the true role of the work environment in the work that we do going forward,” says Dave Chlastosz, who was named President of the firm in March.
“As a human-centered firm, we knew how important it was to strike a balance that allows our associates to enjoy the individual benefits of a ‘remote-first’ model while still recognizing and embracing the value of in-person connections. This approach inspired us to invest in a space ideally suited for enriching our culture and fostering dynamic ‘creative collisions,’” says Chlastosz. “In a sense, we have transformed our headquarters into an extension of our team and an integral part of our process—a true catalyst for creativity and co-creation.”
